Do Not Rent From this Landlord or this house--terrible experience.
I'm posting this as Case alum just to share that I had a terrible experience with this landlord and with this house. Strongly encourage finding something else.
While it is a beautiful apartment, don't be fooled into thinking it's a pleasant place... to live, it is not.
The landlord fails to make repairs, fails to plow snow and clear icey, slippery steps at both and only entrances, and fails to uphold lease terms and house rules with others living in this fourplex.
The tenants in two of the other three apartments smoke cigars, cigarettes and pot, in the house seemingly night and day. The foyer reeks of it and the smoke and odor come right through the hvac vents into this unit, as well as fill the basement.
Landlord behaves in retaliatory ways.
Don't be fooled by the glamor of this apartment. Landlord did nice a job building it, but does a terrible job maintaining it and making it habitable for all tenants. He's also anti--democrat liberal, forced me to take down my Harris-Walz sign.
Find something else!
